Our beautiful Leo has turned FOURTEEN! Where has the time gone!? She’s officially in her second year of being a teenager, and somehow, it still doesn’t feel possible.
We kicked off her birthday celebration with breakfast from a local French café. After breakfast, I got started on her birthday cake! She requested a chocolate chip cake inspired by KFC’s chocolate cake, so I did a little experimenting in the kitchen. It turned out super yummy! I added a glaze on top, which really tied everything together.
We spent most of the day just hanging out at home, and around 4 p.m., it was time to get ready for her birthday dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant inside the Paris Hotel!
Dinner was delicious! Sami ordered her favorite appetizer, escargot, followed by a steak for her main course. We also tried caviar for the first time, and of course, enjoyed some foie gras. After dinner, we headed home, where we finally got to dig into that birthday cake!

Music: She still loves Olivia Rodrigo and Bruno Mars, but recently she’s become a big fan of Nirvana, Green Day, and Yungblud. She’s been on a huge ’90s and early 2000s music kick, and I’ve been LOVING watching her discover the music I grew up listening to. As some of you may already know, Green Day has been my all-time favorite band since I was twelve, so my heart flutters a little every time I hear her playing their music from her bedroom. ❤️

Dreams & Aspirations: Sami wants to become a marine biologist! She’s always loved animals, especially marine life, and her dream is to attend Stanford University. What I love most is that she isn’t just dreaming about it. She already has a pretty well-thought-out plan for how she’s going to get there!
It’s so fun watching her interests grow and seeing more and more of the person she’s becoming. I just wish time would slow down a little!
